Where the forest meets the lake

Villa Piltinrinne sits on the shore of a still Finnish lake, just outside Heinola. Designed for slow mornings and long evenings, the house pairs warm timber interiors with wide views of the water and the woods beyond. The Lusi nature trail starts right next door, with a lit and maintained ski track in winter, and all the services of Vierumäki are a 20-minute drive away. Lusi was named Finnish Village of the Year 2025, with an active local association hosting events year-round, and Heinola is home to one of the world's top-rated disc golf courses. The property has a ring well and a sealed wastewater tank — there is no municipal water connection, so please bring your own drinking water. In summer it can also be collected 3 km away at the Lusi village house, and in winter 8 km away at the Sale shop.

A full kitchen for everything from morning coffee to a dinner for six. Tableware for 6, Sage Barista Espresso coffee machine, dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment, ceramic hob and extractor hood, air fryer, SodaStream, toaster, and kettle.

Bedrooms

One proper bedroom in the main villa plus an open mezzanine loft with three beds. A second separate bedroom is in the lakeside sauna cottage.

A second sauna at the water's edge — warm pine, a quiet dressing room, and the dock just outside the window.

A separate cottage by the water with its own sauna, covered porch, and a soft daybed-style sofa for quiet afternoons.

Please respect quiet hours between 22:00 and 07:00 out of consideration for neighbours and nature.

What are check-in and check-out times?

Check-in from 16:00, check-out by 12:00. Flexible on quiet days — just ask.

Is firewood included?

Yes — firewood for both saunas, the hot tub, and the fire pit is included in the rent.

How does the sauna work?

Both saunas are wood-fired. A short printed guide in the villa explains lighting the stove, recommended heating time (about an hour), and safe shut-down. The lakeside sauna leads straight to the dock for a dip between löylys.

Is there drinking water on site?

The villa uses a ring well and a sealed wastewater tank, so we ask guests to bring their own drinking water. In summer it can be collected 3 km away at the Lusi village house, in winter 8 km away at the Sale shop.

Are linens and towels included?

Not by default, but they're available on request for a small fee — just add it to your booking request.

Are pets allowed?

Pets are not allowed at the villa.

Is smoking allowed?

The villa and all indoor spaces are non-smoking. Smoking is allowed outside, away from the buildings.

How do I get there and where do I park?

The villa is a 20-minute drive from Vierumäki and well-signed from the main road. Parking is on site for 2–3 cars.
